All those issues appears to be very weird for an expensive made in USA horn. 1980-1986 numbers are inexact, and may relate only to student level trumpets/cornets. I also foung a big dried drop of lacquer on a water key. There's some other finish details like the water keys soldering, the pin soldered on the bottom of 3rd slide to fit to the trigger, both are not well finished at all. Looks like the branch has been stessed to fit to the brace or something like that. Here is a 1942 (serial number 349xxx) Conn 22B 'New York Symphony Special' trumpet.

The horn has been freshly serviced: cleaned, trued up, lubed, fresh corks and felts. Original finish is at about 80 with scattered surface scratching.
